Explore The  Benefits of

Reflexology

Reflexology is a non-invasive hands-on modality that stimulates neural pathways through reflexes found on the feet, hands and outer ears. These reflexes can be located via reflex maps that reflect the human body, including organs, glands, muscles and entire body systems. My reflexology sessions are done mostly on the feet, but I will tailor each session to your

specific needs.

The National Institute of Health (NIH) recognizes reflexology as a Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM), such as massage, chiropractic and acupuncture.

How Does Reflexology Work?

Reflexology is performed using thumb and finger techniques with various pressure on the feet, hands and outer ears. Reflexology is not the same as

massage therapy. During a reflexology session, specific reflex points are targeted which stimulate neural pathways. This can promote homeostasis

and encourage balance and optimal function in the body. It is also relaxation inducing and stress relieving as it stimulates the parasympathetic

nervous system (“rest and digest”). Reflexology can also increase circulation by increased oxygen and nutrients to cells.

What are the Benefits of Reflexology?

Reflexology can help alleviate symptoms associated with:

- Chronic Pain

- Poor Sleep

- Digestive Disorders

- Foot Pain

- Hormonal Imbalance

- Tension in the Body

- Mental Health Disorders

- Headaches and Migraines

And much more

Reflexology is great for those that are uncertain about receiving bodywork, as it is done fully clothed except for socks and shoes. You will be invited to lay face up on a table, offered a blanket and the choice to have table heat on or off. Most sessions are 50-60 minutes long and are concluded with

hot towels on the feet with gentle compressions and stretches.

How Often Should I Receive Reflexology?

This depends on what your goals are. If you are seeking relief from chronic pain, weekly or bi weekly sessions are suggested as reflexology works on a cumulative basis. Overtime, these may be reduced as symptoms are alleviated. Chronic issues take years to accumulate in the body, so it

could take some time to see results. Acute cases may require less sessions.
